2025 South East Asian (SEA) Games to Include Towed Water Sports

IWWF Asia is pleased to announce that towed water sports will be included in the 2025 South East Asian (SEA) Games. There will be four medal disciplines:
  • Team Waterski Slalom (Mixed Men & Women)
  • Team Wakeboard Boat (Mixed Men & Women)
  • Team Wakesurf (Mixed Men & Women)
  • Team Cable Wakeboard (Mixed Men & Women)
The 2025 SEA Games, officially the 33rd SEA Games, is an international multi-sport event sanctioned by the Southeast Asian Games Federation (SEAGF), scheduled to be held from 9th to 20th December 2025 in Thailand with Bangkok Metropolitan Region, Chonburi, and Songkhla as their main host cities. The Games will involve participants from the current 11 countries of Southeast Asia and are under the regulation of the Southeast Asian Games Federation with supervision by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA).  The SEA Games is one of the five subregional Games of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA). There will be 50 sports with 569 events, along with 3 demonstration sports featuring 12 events. Towed water sports has previously featured in the SEA Games on 7 occasions:
1983 - Singapore
1987 - Bali, Indonesia
1997 - Jakarta, Indonesia
2011 - Palembang, Indonesia
2015 - Singapore
2017 - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
2019 - Clark, Philippines
